Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 102 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on May 02, 2024 to 5:00 am on May 03, 2024.

 

Arrested on Warrant

On the 2nd of May, at 10:30pm, another police service in the Greater Toronto Area notified the Belleville Police Service that they had arrested 29-year-old Cynthia Reilly on the strength of an arrest warrant held by the Belleville Police Service.  The warrant was for assault and failing to attend court.  The warrant was originally issued in April of 2022.  Reilly was returned to the Belleville Police service where she was held for bail.

 

Arrested on Warrant

On the 23rd of April, the Belleville Police began an investigation into the theft of a purse from a vehicle which occurred in the city’s east end.  Through the investigation, police were able to identify the suspect as 26-year-old Jessica McBride-Bowers of Belleville.  As a result of the investigation, an arrest warrant was issued for her arrest for theft under $5000. 

On the 2nd of May, at 9:00pm, police received a call to a business on Bell Blvd.  During this call, police dealt with McBride-Bowers.  She was subsequently arrested on the strength of the warrant and held for bail. 

 

Arrested on Warrant

On the 2nd of May at 9:18pm, while on patrol in the city’s downtown area, police observed a male known to them as having an outstanding arrest warrant for theft over $5000 and break and enter.  As a result, police arrested 28-year-old Nick Semple of Belleville on the strength of the warrant.  He was held for bail. 

 

Break and Enter leads to arrest

On the 2nd of May at 12:31pm, police received a report of a break and enter to a residence in the city’s east end.  The suspect had broken into the residence through a rear door and proceeded to use the shower.  The suspect had further threatened the homeowners that if they called police, she would cause bodily harm to them.  The suspect was known to the homeowners.  Police attended and arrested the suspect.  Further investigation revealed that the suspect was on probation with conditions not to have communication with the homeowners or to attend their address.  As a result of the investigation, police charged 22-year-old Madison Loft of no fixed address with break and enter, uttering threats to cause bodily harm, criminal harassment and three counts of breach of Probation.  She was held for a bail hearing.
