Doorstep theft of parcels
Belleville Police are looking to identify a suspect from a theft occurring at an east end residence from November 4th at 12:48pm. Packages were delivered and left on the doorstep of a Bridge Street East residence that were taken by a female suspect shortly thereafter. The stolen items are valued in excess of $700. Below are images of the suspect.
The female is described as wearing a dark full-length winter coat, green hoodie sweatshirt, black pants, black running shoes and shoulder length brown hair. Arrested on warrant for assault with a weapon and uttering threats
On the 2nd of November, the Belleville Police Service began an investigation after receiving a report that a city transit employee was threatened by a passenger at approximately 9am. The investigation revealed that the female suspect approached the employee while yelling obscenities, uttering threats and then proceeded to pull out a knife while making stabbing motions towards the employee. The employee did not suffer any physical injuries. Police were able to identify the female and an arrest warrant was issued for 45-year-old Angela Benn of no fixed address. On the 21st of November, an officer on patrol observed Benn and arrested her without incident on the strength of the warrant. Benn was charged with assault with a weapon and uttering threats. She was held in custody for a bail hearing.
