Disturbance leads to Noise By-law ticket

On the 10th of December at 7:28pm, Belleville Police were called to a residence in the city’s east end regarding a male causing a disturbance outside a residence for nearly an hour. Officers arrived and located an intoxicated male who was continuing to cause a disturbance and disrupting the neighbors. As a result, the 37-year-old male of no fixed address was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service. The male remained in police custody until sober and was later released with a $240 Noise Bylaw ticket for make, cause or permit noise likely to disturb. 

Traffic stop leads to arrest and charges

On the 11th of December at 4:30am, Belleville Police conducted a traffic stop on Cannifton Rd. The driver was known to police and during the ensuing investigation, police confirmed that the female driver was the subject of several arrest warrants from neighboring OPP detachments.  Belleville Police charged the 35-year-old female from Belleville with drive motor vehicle – no licence, fail to surrender insurance and fail to surrender permit.  The female was turned over to the OPP for processing on their warrants.

 

During the previous 24 hours, Belleville Police also responded to 14 motor vehicle collisions, traffic complaints and various disputes.  Police also spent considerable time and resources investigating three separate missing person / despondent calls for service which all resulted in a peaceful and safe resolution.
