Theft of Motor Vehicle
On April 24, 2025, at 7:50am, the Belleville Police received a report of a stolen vehicle from an east end location. The complainant reports that sometime overnight, a 2003 Chevy pickup truck, light brown in colour with a plow harness (see photo below) on the front was stolen. Mischief / Breach of Probation
On April 24, 2025, at 11:10am, the Belleville Police were called to a disturbance at South John Street. Officers arrived on scene and were advised that a female known to them had jumped on and climbed to the top of an EMS vehicle and had been causing a disturbance in the parking lot. Officers located the female a short distance away. The 46-year-old female of no fixed address was charged with Mischief and Fail to Comply with Probation. The accused was held for a bail hearing on April 25, 2025.
Indecent Lewd Act
On April 24, 2025, at 12:30pm, the Belleville Police were called to a Dundas Street East location in regards to a man sitting on the ground, naked in the vicinity of a daycare centre. Police located the suspect and arrested him for Indecent Act. The 44 year old man of no fixed address was held for a bail hearing on April 25, 2025.
Intimate Partner Violence
On April 24, 2025, at 9:00pm, the Belleville Police were dispatched to a west end residence regarding a report of intimate partner violence. As a result of the investigation, a 37-year-old man from Belleville was charged with the following criminal offences:
- Assault
- Utter Threats to Cause Death
- Breach of Probation
The accused was held in custody and will appear in a bail hearing on April 25, 2025.
Driver Fail to Stop for Police
On April 24, 2025, at 9:50pm, a member of the Belleville Police Traffic Safety Unit observed a vehicle speeding on Dundas Street West in the 50km/h zone. The officer activated his emergency lights in an attempt to stop the vehicle. The vehicle refused to stop for the officer and took off north bound on Wright Avenue at a high rate of speed. The officer did not initiate a vehicle pursuit after weighing the safety risks to the surrounding public. The fleeing vehicle was described as a Nissan Kick, black in colour with an Ontario plate marker of DERT 342 and was found to be a rental vehicle. The City’s CCTV intersection camera caught the suspect vehicle moments later at the intersection of Bell Boulevard and North Front Street, (see photo below). The investigation is continuing and the rental driver will be facing numerous charges. Intimate Partner Violence
On April 25, 2025, at 1:30am, the Belleville Police were called to a North Front Street location for a report of an intimate partner assault. Police arrived and investigated, which led to a 44-year-old man from Trenton being and arrested and charged for the following criminal offences:
- Assault
- Assault with a Weapon
- Mischief
- Utter Threats to Cause Death (2counts)
The accused was held in custody by police and will appear in court April 25, 2025 for a bail hearing. The female victim was injured, but did not require professional medical attention.
