Breach of probation
On 29 November, 2024, at approximately 7:30pm, Belleville Police were called for a female who was unwanted at someone’s property. Police arrived and discovered that the female was on conditions not to communicate with the complainant. Madison Loft, 23, of no fixed address was arrested and charged with breaching a probation order. She was released with a 9 January, 2025 court date.
Criminal harassment
On 1 December, 2024, at 2:45pm, Belleville Police were called by security at the Quinte Mall regarding a male who was following a teenage female and making inappropriate comments. Police arrived a short time later and located the male who was identified as John Carter Elsbury, 25, from Prince Edward County. Police learned Elsbury was bound by a probation order with several conditions, one of which was to not be in the company of anyone under 16. Police attempted to arrest Elsbury, and he began to resist. Elsbury was eventually arrested, and he was transported to the Belleville Police Service where he was held for a bail hearing on 2 December, 2024. Elsbury was charged with criminal harassment, resisting arrest, and three counts of breach of probation.
Stolen vehicle
On 1 December, 2024, at 6:18pm, police were called to East Zwicks Park for a report of a stolen vehicle. The complainant advised that sometime in the previous hour, someone stole a 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee black in colour bearing Ontario plate CZTP 970. The investigation is continuing. Anyone who sees the vehicle or has information is asked to call the Belleville Police Service.
