Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 98 calls for service between 5:00 am on December 25, 2024 to 5:00 am on December 27, 2024.
Slashed Tires
The Belleville Police Service is continuing to investigate numerous reports of tires slashed on vehicles in the area of Avondale Rd and Harder Dr. So far, a total of 10 vehicles have had their tires slashed overnight between Christmas and Boxing Day. The suspect is described as having a slim build wearing a rust coloured hooded jacket, blue jeans and running shoes. Residents in the area are encouraged to check any home security video that may have captured images of the suspect. Anyone with information regarding these incidents is asked to contact Cst. Stolen Vehicle
On the 26th of December at 7:50am, police attended a residence in the city’s east end for the report of a stolen vehicle. Police learned that on the 25th of December the homeowner had invited two persons into his residence whom he had recently met online. The persons left the residence later in the evening. The homeowner woke up the next morning to learn that the keys to his vehicle and his car had been stolen. The vehicle is a white 2009 Hyundai Elantra with black rims and black door handles. The licence plate on the vehicle is DCDZ 462. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the vehicle are asked to contact the Belleville Police.
Prohibited driver charged
On the 27th of December at 3:57am, officers on patrol observed a vehicle on Dundas Street East with no licence plates. Police stopped the vehicle and learned that the driver was prohibited from driving in Canada stemming from a previous conviction for “fail to stop for police” and prohibited driving province wide for unpaid fines. Miranda Tofflemire, 24 years-old of Napanee was arrested and charged with driving while prohibited under the Criminal Code and operating a motor vehicle with no plates, no permit for motor vehicle and fail to surrender proof of insurance under the Provincial Offences Act. Tofflemire was released at the scene with a court date in February 2025.
Police continue to search for missing 26-year-old Belleville resident
Members of the Belleville Police Service’s Criminal Investigation Division are continuing to search for 26-year-old Belleville resident Andrew Robinson. Robinson was last observed at 2:25am on the 23rd of December walking east bound on College Street West from Sidney St. Robinson was not dressed for the cold weather when he left his residence. Police and family are concerned for his safety and well-being. Andrew is described as 5’11”, 155 lbs., having short black hair and a mustache. He was last observed wearing white track pants, a ty-die style long sleeve shirt with the word “ELEMENT” on the sleeve, black shoes and wearing a black backpack. He was also observed to be carrying a teddy bear. Anyone with information regarding Robinson’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Belleville Police Service at 613-966-0882.
