Breach of Probation

On the 29th of January at 8:12am, Belleville Police were called to an address in the city’s west end regarding a male who was banging on the door and was on court conditions not to attend the address.  Police attended and arrested the male without incident.  A 37-year-old Belleville man was charged with breach of probation.  He was held for a bail hearing.

Impaired Driving

On the 29th of January at 2:36pm, a concerned citizen contacted the Belleville Police Service while observing two females get in and out of their vehicle while having a cigarette and chugging a bottle of wine.  The vehicle was in the parking lot on Bell Blvd near the LCBO store.  Prior to police arrival, the vehicle attempted to leave however it ran into a snow bank and then stopped again in the parking lot.  Police began an investigation upon their arrival.   As part of the investigation, an Approved Screening Device was administered and the driver was subsequently arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service for further testing. 

As a result, Hina Khoja, 45-years-old of Scarborough was charged with Operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration 80 plus and having open alcohol in her vehicle.  She was released on an Undertaking with a court date in February. 

While still at the scene, the passenger, a 32-year-old female from Brockville became ill from the consumption of alcohol.  Hastings-Quinte Paramedics attended.  In the end, the passenger was arrested under the Liquor Licence Control Act for her own safety as she was unbale to care for herself. She was also charged with having open liquor in a vehicle.
