Disturbance call leads to arrest for domestic assault, assault and mischief
On the 22nd of May at 9:56pm, the Belleville Police Service responded to a call regarding a disturbance at a residence in the city’s east end. Police began to receive information that an adult male had assaulted two adult females one of whom he was in a relationship with. Further information was received that the same male had broken a window at the residence. When police arrived, they located the suspect unconscious on the front lawn from the ingestion of controlled substances. Paramedics attended and transported the male to the Belleville General Hospital for treatment. Police continued their investigation into the assaults. One of the females suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault. The male was later released from the hospital and transported to the Belleville Police Service where he remains in custody. As a result of the police investigation, a 29-year-old male from Belleville is charged with domestic assault, assault and mischief. He was held for a bail hearing.
