The Belleville Police Service is hosting their 4th Annual Women in Policing Event on Thursday, November 20th from 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM. If you are a woman interested in a career as a Special Constable or Constable, this special event is an excellent opportunity to explore a career with the Belleville Police Service. Attendee’s will learn about the hiring process, have an opportunity to network with our Special Constables and Constables, and understand the benefits of a policing career. Plaque Unveiling at the Belleville Police Service

Belleville Police Service Padre Brad Beale is congratulated in front of his plaque by Chief Murry Rodd (right),  which was unveiled Thursday. The commemoration is located in a popular room within the Belleville Police Service utilized by patrol members, which is now known as The Padre Brad Beale Wellness Room. Padre Beale was commemorated in the plaque “in recognition of his outstanding dedication and unwavering commitment to the health and wellbeing” of Belleville Police Service members. Belleville Police Service Board Welcomes New Leadership

At its September 19, 2024, meeting, the Belleville Police Service Board welcomed Chief Murray Rodd and Deputy Chief Sheri Meeks as the new leadership team of the Belleville Police Service. In addition, Councillor Barb Enright-Miller was introduced as the newest member of the Board following her appointment by the City of Belleville’s Council. She was also nominated and appointed as Vice-Chair of the Board. Heather Smith was nominated and appointed as Chair, succeeding outgoing Councillor Tyler Allsopp, who stepped down after 18 months to pursue candidacy as the PC candidate for Provincial Parliament. The other members of the five-person Board are Jim O’Brien, Mayor Neil Ellis, and Janet Harnden. Belleville Police Service Welcomes New Leadership

The Belleville Police Service is proud to announce the official appointment of Chief Murray Rodd and Deputy Chief Sheri Meeks, following a formal swearing-in ceremony held yesterday. The ceremony, which took place at the Quinte Consolidated Courthouse, was attended by local officials, dignitaries, community members, and law enforcement personnel, marking a new chapter in the leadership of the Belleville Police Service. UPDATE – Fatal MVC

The Belleville Police Service is releasing the name of the female cyclist killed as a result of a collision with a vehicle earlier this week. Around 4:30 a.m. on September 12, 2024 police and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics were dispatched to a report of a car that struck a cyclist on Dundas Street West near the intersection of Avonlough Road. The driver involved remained at the scene was cooperative with police. The cyclist was treated at the scene, however died at Belleville hospital as a result of injuries sustained during the collision. The cyclist has since been identified as Belleville resident Melissa McGiffin, 40. The Belleville Police Service extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Ms. McGiffin during this difficult time. An investigation in the incident was launched involving members from the Belleville Police Traffic Safety Unit and the Belleville Police Forensic Identification Unit. No charges are expected at
