UPDATE – Arrest made in Homicide Investigation

As a result of the continued investigation into the homicide, the accused male, 30-year-old Tyler Donnelly of Belleville was charged with Second Degree Murder. Donnelly has been remanded into custody. The female victim has been identified as 26-year-old Shannan Leigh Hickey of Belleville.  The Belleville Police Criminal Investigations Division with assistance from the Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate the incident. Arrest made in Homicide Investigation

On the 21st of May at 1:28am, members of the Belleville Police Service’s Uniform Division responded to a residence on Hastings Park Drive after receiving a report of a homicide at the residence.     Upon arrival, police located a deceased 26-year-old female and a 30-year-old male who had lacerations to his wrists.  Both parties were located inside the residence.  Based on police observations and the initial investigation, the male was arrested for first degree murder.  The male was transported by paramedics to the Kingston General Hospital for treatment of his injuries.  He remains in police custody at the hospital. The names of the accused and deceased are not being released at this time pending next-of-kin notification.  The Belleville Police Criminal Investigations Division with assistance from the Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate the incident.  Uniform police personnel remain at the residence preserving scene continuity. Community Alert – High Risk Sex Offender living in the Belleville Area

Belleville Police Issues Community Alert on High Risk Sex Offender The Belleville Police is alerting members of the Community to be aware that David Joseph RODGERS is now residing in the Belleville area as of the 1st of March 2024. RODGERS has been labelled a “Prolific Offender” by Toronto Police. RODGERS is currently out on bail on charges from the Toronto Police for breaching his 810.1 Order.  RODGERS was charged last week by the Belleville Police Service for breaching his bail conditions, and was re-released on bail. RODGERS is a two-time federal offender and has a criminal history of Sexual Interference, Possess Child Pornography, Import, distribute, sell Child Pornography, make, print-publish Child Pornography.  RODGERS was also convicted of breaching his 810.1 order.  RODGERS is on a 161 Prohibition order in relation to children for Life.
