Harassment investigation leads to charges

On the 19th of November at 12:44am, Belleville Police received a call regarding a male wearing a mask, confronting a female who was donating clothes at a location near Coleman St and Bridge St. West.  Police responded and spoke to the female and a witness.  Police learned that while the female was donating clothes into a bin, she was approached by a male wearing a mask who requested she attend with him to a nearby secluded area.  The female refused and quickly departed on her bicycle.  The suspect began to chase her however the female was able to evade the suspect and make it to a place of safety.   Police obtained a description of the suspect and located him while still in the area.  During the arrest, the suspect assaulted an officer causing minor injuries.  Police charged 44-year-old Sean Morrissey of no fixed address with criminal harassment, assault with intent to resist arrest and wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence.  He was later released on an Undertaking with a court date in December.
