Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 65 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on November 21, 2024 to 5:00 am on November 22, 2024.
Theft from vehicles
Sometime during the early morning hours of November 21st, unknown suspect(s) entered vehicles on Alexander St. and stole a number of items. At one location, suspect(s) smashed the window of a vehicle and stole a bicycle, clothes and a vacuum. At a second location, a vehicle was entered where cash and power tools were stolen. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Belleville Police at 613-966-0882.
Police are reminding residents that by leaving valuables inside your vehicle in plain sight it makes them targets for thieves. Items such as purses, cellphones, wallets, cash, sunglasses, GPS units and power tools are all items that thieves are looking to steal. If there are items that you absolutely must leave in your vehicle, secure them in the trunk or at a minimum ensure they are out of sight.
Vehicle struck house
On the 22nd of November at 2:30am, Belleville Police received a report of a vehicle that struck a residence on Marsh Dr. The homeowner was asleep and was awakened when the vehicle struck their residence. Police, fire and paramedics were all dispatched to the scene. Upon police arrival, the vehicle was still running however the driver had fled the scene. There were no reported injuries by the homeowners however significant structural damage to the residence was reported. Members of the Belleville Police Forensic Identification Section attended to process the scene for evidence. Police are continuing the investigation.
