Fail to Comply with a Release Order
On the 13th of September 2022, at 9:40 a.m. Belleville Police responded to the area of Front Street and Dundas Street in Belleville, Ontario, for a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, police located the involved parties. Investigation revealed that one of the involved persons was on conditions stemming from a previous release order not to be near or communicate with one of the other involved persons. As a result, 42-year-old Amanda Sleeper of Belleville, Ontario, was arrested and charged with two counts of Failing to Comply with a Release Order. Sleeper was held for a show cause hearing later that morning and remanded into custody.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On the 13th of September 2022, at 5:55 p.m. Belleville Police responded to the area of Moira Street West and Sidney Street Belleville, Ontario, regarding a two-vehicle collision. There were no injuries reported, and both vehicles sustained significant damage. The at-fault driver was charged with Turn Not in Safety under the Highway Traffic Act and issued a Provincial Offences notice.
Cops & Kids Fishing Derby
On Saturday, September 24, 2022, the Belleville Police Service will be hosting the Cops & Kids fishing derby. The derby will be at Victoria Park and runs from 9:00 am to noon. The derby is free, there is a free lunch for all children under 12, and the first 200 kids will get a free t-shirt.
