Erratic driving leads to numerous charges
On the 13th of September at 8:59am, Belleville Police responded to a traffic complaint in an east end sub-division. A black Nissan Sentra was observed driving erratically in a construction site, striking garbage cans and an excavator. Several witnesses contacted police in relation to this incident. With the assistance of the witnesses, the vehicle was located in the area of Dundas Street East and Haig Road. The driver was arrested for dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and impaired operation. Following the police investigation, 26-year-old Hirdaypal Singh of Belleville was charged with dangerous driving, impaired operation of a motor vehicle, refusing to provide a breath sample and utter threats under the Criminal Code as well as fail to remain at the scene of an accident, unlawfully drive in a construction zone and improperly displayed plate contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. Singh was released on an Undertaking with a court date in October.
Indecent Act
On the 13th of September at 5:43pm, Belleville Police responded to a report of an indecent act being committed at a North Front Street business. Police spoke to witnesses who stated that a male had exposed himself to a young girl while inside the store. Police obtained a description of the suspect and located him a short distance away. Police arrested and charged 56-year-old Robert Bradley of Trenton. Bradley was charged with committing an indecent act as well as exposure to a person under sixteen years of age. Bradley was released on an Undertaking with a court date in October.
Assault with a weapon
On the 13th of September at 7:16pm, a male attended the front desk of the Belleville Police Service to report an assault. The male who had a visible head wound, reported that while he was leaving an address in the city’s west end, he was struck in the head with a 3lb sledge hammer by a male who was known to him. Following the investigation, police arrested and charged 55-year-old David Aide of Belleville with assault with a weapon. Aide was released on an Undertaking with a court date in October.
Assault and uttering threats
On the 14th of September at 2:45pm, Belleville Police attended an address on North Front St regarding a domestic dispute. Upon arrival, police spoke to the involved parties. As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 47-year-old Belleville male with assault and uttering threats. The male was later released on an Undertaking with a court date in October. There were no reported injuries. The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Bail Violation
On the 15th of September at 9:43am, the Belleville Police Service received a notification that a male was failing to follow a condition of his bail by remaining in his residence. Police attended the residence and confirmed the male was not present. While searching for the male, he returned back to his residence where he was arrested. Police charged a 41-year-old male with failing to comply with a Release Order. He was held for a bail hearing.
Arrested on Warrant
On the 15th of September at 6:30pm, while on patrol on North Park Street, police observed a male known to them who was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant. Police arrested 40-year-old Chris Georgakopoulos of Belleville on the strength of the outstanding warrant. The warrant was for failing to attend court, assault, uttering threats, mischief, fail to attend for fingerprints and two counts of breaching an Undertaking. He was held for a bail hearing.
