Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 88 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on June 13, 2023 to 5:00 am on June 14, 2023.

 

Transportation Fraud

On June 13th 2023 at 8:27 pm, Belleville Police received a call from a local cab company regarding a customer who refused to pay for their fare.  Officers arrived and spoke to the driver who advised that they picked up a female in Frankford and drove her to a location in Belleville’s north end.   Near the requested destination, the female exited the taxi and departed on foot while refusing to pay.  Police searched the area and located the female.  Cassandra Mountenay, 40 years old of Frankford was arrested and charged with transportation fraud.  Mountenay was also arrested on the strength of outstanding warrants for impaired driving, over 80 and fail to attend court.  She was released on an Undertaking with a July 2023 court date. 

 

Outstanding Warrants

On June 14th 2023 at 12:39 am, Belleville Police were called to a location in the city’s east end regarding a male who was causing a disturbance.  Officers arrived and spoke to the 37-year-old of no fixed address.  The male was known to police and had two outstanding warrants for his arrest for theft under $5000 and breach of probation.  The male was transported to the Belleville Police Service and held for a bail hearing.
