Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 88 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on June 14th, 2023 to 5:00 am on June 15th, 2023.

 

Assault

On the 14th of June 2023, at 5:06 p.m., officers attended an east end residence regarding a landlord / tenant dispute. Upon arrival, police spoke to the involved parties.  Police learned that following an argument between the two parties, the tenant proceeded to assault the elderly landlord who then fell down a flight of stairs.  The landlord was transported to the hospital by ambulance with minor injuries.  Aurele John, 31 years old of Belleville was charged with assault and released on an Undertaking with a court date in July 2023.

 

Warrant

On the 14th of June 2023, at 7:37 p.m., OPP officers attended the Belleville Police Service and turned over a male wanted on warrants held by the Belleville Police Service.  The warrants stem from an intimate partner violence investigation.  A 28-year-old male from Picton was arrested on the strength of the warrants which were for assault, weapons dangerous, theft under $5000 and take motor vehicle without consent. He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in July 2023.  The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim. 

 

Warrant

On the 15th of June 2023, at 12:05 a.m., OPP officers attended the Belleville Police Service and turned over a female wanted on warrants held by the Belleville Police Service.  The warrants stem from an intimate partner violence investigation.  A 27-year-old female from Deseronto was arrested on the strength of the warrants which were for assault, fail to comply with undertaking x2, fail to comply with summons, fail to attend court and fail to attend for fingerprints. She was released on an Undertaking with a court date in July 2023.  The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.
