Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 110 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on June 26, 2023 to 5:00 am on June 27, 2023.

 

Traffic Enforcement

On June 27 2023 at 1am, a uniform officer on general patrol conducted a traffic stop on Millennium Parkway.  An investigation confirmed that the licence plates were not associated to the vehicle that they were currently on.  The driver initially identified himself as his brother but was recognized by officers on scene.  Further investigation revealed that the driver was suspended.  The 45-year-old driver from Belleville was charged with driving while suspended, using plates not authorized, G1 driver unaccompanied, and operate a vehicle with no insurance.  The driver was given a traffic court date in August 2023 and the vehicle was seized for 7 days.   

 

Project Renewal – Drug Trafficking

On June 26 2023 at 8:56pm, as a result of a Drug Trafficking investigation in the City of Belleville; members of Project Renewal, with assistance from the Belleville Police K9 Unit and Emergency Response Unit arrested three people in the area of HWY 401 and HWY 37 Belleville.

Police located 237.7 grams of cocaine, packaging material and three cell phones.

                                                                                                                                             

As a result of the investigation, three people were charged with Controlled Drug and Substances Act offences.

Jamal Darius, 34-years-old of no fixed address was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.

Ryan Hill, 31-years-old of Belleville was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and breaching his Undertaking.  Both Darius and Hill were held in custody for a bail hearing.

Sarah Lewis, 35-years-old of Belleville was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking.  Lewis was released on an Undertaking with a July 2023 court date.
