Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 90 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on July 4, 2023 to 5:00 am on July 5, 2023.

 

Bail Violations

On July 4 2023 at 9 p.m., Belleville Police were called to an east end residence regarding a male breaching a release order.  Officers learned that the male was released last month on an Undertaking for uttering threats with conditions not to attend the residence and not to communicate with the occupant.  Officers located the male hiding in a closet within the residence.  A 39-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged with two counts of failing to comply with an Undertaking and was held for a bail hearing.

 

Assault and Breach of Probation

On June 29 2023, Belleville Police and paramedics were called to a west end residence regarding an assault that had occurred earlier in the day at a downtown park.  The victim suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault.  Police continued the investigation and were able to identify and locate the suspects.  On July 4 2023, two suspects were arrested as a result of the investigation.  Robert John Reilly, 49 years old of Belleville was charged with assault and released on an Undertaking with a court date in July 2023.  The second suspect, a 52-year-old male from Belleville was charged with assault and breach of probation and was held for a bail hearing.
