Traffic stop leads to arrest

On the 11th of October 2023 at 10:00 pm, officers on patrol conducted a vehicle stop at Sidney Street and Bridge Street West.  During the stop, officers observed a female in the vehicle who was known to them.  Officers were aware that the female was currently wanted for failing to attend court.  As a result, 36-year-old, Melissa Gould of no fixed address was arrested on the strength of the warrant.  Gould was released a short time later on an Undertaking with a new court date in November.

Distraction Theft – Police looking to identify suspects

On the 5th of October 2023 between 9:30 and 10:00 am, an elderly female was shopping at a business on Millennium Parkway when she was targeted by two suspects.  The elderly female had placed her purse in the top of her shopping cart.

The female suspect distracted the victim by starting up a conversation about a product while the male suspect entered the victim’s purse stealing her wallet which contained cash, personal ID, gift cards and banking cards.

Following the theft, both suspects exited the store and departed in a red / burgundy vehicle similar to a Hyundai or Toyota.

Below are photos of both suspects and the vehicle.  The female suspect was reported to speak with an unknown accent.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspects is requested to contact Cst. Hadley at ehadley@belllevilleps.ca
