Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 70 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on November 20, 2023 to 5:00 am on November 21, 2023.

 

Impaired Driving

On the 20th of November at 3:25pm, the Belleville Police Service received a call regarding a two-vehicle collision in a parking lot at a business on Bell Blvd.  There were no reported injuries.  Officers arrived on scene and spoke to the involved drivers. Following the investigation, officers arrested one of the drivers for impaired driving.  The driver was arrested and transported to the Belleville Police Service for further investigation.  Upon the conclusion of the investigation, Belleville Police charged Sergio Remirez, 73 years-old of Belleville with Impaired Driving and Over 80mgs.  He was later released on an Undertaking with a court date in December 2023.  His vehicle was impounded for 7 days and his license suspended for 90 days.

 

Arrest on Warrant

On the 21st of November at 1:54am, Belleville Police received information regarding a male sleeping in an alleyway in the downtown core.  Officers attended to check on the well-being of the male.  During their investigation, officers learned the male was wanted on an outstanding warrant for Mischief.  As a result, police arrested Ryan Durant, 32 years-old of no fixed address on the strength of the warrant.  He was later released on an Undertaking with a court date in December 2023.
