Assault and Mischief charges
On the 20th of February at 8:10pm, Belleville Police attended a residence in the city’s east end in regards to a female who was acting out of control. Upon arrival, police learned that the female had become upset and had attempted to strike other people in the residence with a wooden table leg. Further investigation revealed that the female had also physically assaulted a person and damaged some property. As a result, a 24-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged with assault, assault with a weapon and mischief. She was held for a bail hearing.
Motor Vehicle Collision
On the 20th of February at 7:04am, Belleville Police, Fire and EMS responded to a two-vehicle collision at University Avenue and Jamieson Bone Rd. As a result of the collision, one of the drivers was trapped in a vehicle and the airbags had been deployed. The male was safely removed from the vehicle with only minor physical injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene. As a result of the police investigation, a 63-year-old male was charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Carless Driving. He was issued a Provincial Offence Notice.
