Total calls for service – Belleville Police responded to 70 calls for service over a 24-hour period beginning at 5:00 am on March 21, 2024 to 5:00 am on March 22, 2024.

 

Motor Vehicle Collision - Impaired Driving Charge

On the 21st of March at 4:12pm, police received a complaint of a motor vehicle traveling south bound on Hwy #62 near Millennium Drive that was swerving in and out of traffic and that the driver appeared to be nodding off. Police located the vehicle in the area of Tracey Street and Thompson Court as the vehicle had struck a sign. 

As a result of the police investigation, the 38-year-old driver of the vehicle, Stefan Pintaric of Belleville was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation and Over 80mgs.  His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and the vehicle was impounded for 7 days.  He was released on an Undertaking with a court date in April.

 

Arrested on Warrants

On the 21st of March at 6:52pm, police responded to the area of Farley Ave. for a report of a male walking down the road swinging a wooden 2x4 around. The male was reportedly acting strange, unsteady on his feet and spinning around. Police attended the area and identified the male as 44-year-old Christopher Lloyd of no fixed address.  Police learned that Lloyd was wanted on multiple endorsed arrest warrants for possession of stolen property, theft x2, fraud and failing to comply with an Undertaking.  Lloyd was arrested on the strength of the warrants and re-released on an Undertaking with a court date in April. 

 

Traffic Enforcement leads to arrest on Warrant

On the 21st of March at 7:57pm, police conducted a traffic stop in the area of Old Hwy #2 and Mitchell Rd for a motorist who was speeding at 99km/h in a 60km/h zone. The driver, a 43-year-old male from Belleville, was wanted by the Belleville Police Service for Theft Under $5000 and was also a suspended driver. The driver was arrested on the strength of the warrant and transported to the Belleville Police Service. He was later released on an Undertaking with a court date in April and also charged with Drive while Suspended and Speeding under the Highway Traffic Act.
