Motor Vehicle Collision
On the 22nd of March at 6:05pm, Belleville Police, EMS and Fire responded to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Herchimer Ave. and Station St. As a result of the collision, one of the vehicles struck and damaged a hydro pole which required the intersection to be closed for nearly five hours while crews repaired the pole.
Both vehicle drivers attended BGH with reported minor injuries. Following the police investigation, a 26-year-old Belleville resident was charged with Careless Driving and issued a Provincial Offence Notice. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
Motor Vehicle Collision – Fail to Remain – Ends with Arrest
On the 23rd of March at 7:40pm, police responded to a two-vehicle collision on North Front St. at Donald St. Minor injuries were reported by one of the passengers. Police spoke to witnesses and one driver. Police learned that the second driver was currently breaching his probation and a release order therefore he fled the accident scene on foot. Police began an investigation into the whereabouts of the driver and were able to locate him at a nearby residence.
As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged David Cooley-Rushlow, 33-years-old of Belleville with failing to comply with a release order, breach of probation, driving while suspended, careless driving and failing to remain at the scene of an accident. He was held in custody for a bail hearing.
Domestic related Mischief and Harassment
On the 23rd of March at 5:08am, police were called to an east end residence regarding a male who was attempting to enter an ex-girlfriend’s residence. Police immediately responded and upon arrival, located the male exiting the backyard. The male was arrested without incident. During the investigation police learned that the male had also caused property damage to the victim’s residence.
As a result of the investigation, a 34-year-old Belleville resident was arrested and charged with mischief x2, criminal harassment and trespass at night. He was held for a bail hearing. The name of the accused is not being released in order to protect the identity of the victim.

Fail to Remain
Belleville Police are seeking any witnesses for a fail to remain motor vehicle collision. Police were called to the intersection of Ducette Road and Ashley Street in Foxboro. A homeowner in the area contacted police after sometime overnight between the 23rd and 24th of March, a newer model Ford pick-up truck left the roadway and causing extensive damage to the homeowner’s property and then failed to remain at the scene. The Ford is believed to have damage to its passenger side. Anyone with any information regarding this incident is asked to contact Cst. Suspended Driver
On the 24th of March at 7:00pm, an officer on patrol stopped a vehicle on Front Street after observing that the plates attached to the vehicle had been reported as missing. The driver of the vehicle was found to be a suspended driver and was unable to provide proof of valid insurance. As a result of the investigation, the driver, a 41-year-old Quinte West resident was charged with driving while suspended, using plates not authorized for the vehicle and operating the vehicle with no insurance. The driver was issued three summonses for a traffic court date in May.
